HOT AS HADES

It is going to be a very hot summer. The heat index is over 100 and it is just the first day of summer. All the power companies are going to love all the extra money they will make. How many brown outs and black outs do you think we will have? Try to stay cool.

They are suppose to start on our new roof tomorrow. Just hope and pray the rain will come real late in the day until they can complete the job.

We have been having a real problem with ticks. Any suggestions on how we can get rid of them will be appreciated. Zoe is doing pretty good. She still has some trouble walking and falls some times when she tries to come in. She still seems to be in no pain so that is good.

I have been feeling a little lost recently, like there is no family left. What happened to our cook outs and vacations together? I know your kids grow up and leave home but I sure miss all the good times we had.
Bobby will be home sometime this summer for a couple of weeks and maybe I will visit him again soon.

I am sending all my love and kisses to family and friends.
Try to stay cool.
Love you all.

Humpty Dumpty Had A Great Fall

Well ____ I did it again. I fell and just let me tell you it hurt like hell.
Messed up my right arm and right thigh/knee. The color of the rainbows can not compare.
Tripped over a rug fell against wooden rocking chair so there I sat for a short while until I had my breath back and of course I had to get on my knees to push myself up and that was the worst pain I had felt in a long time. Went to work on Thursday because I had a meeting with the two bosses about my job but then I came home about 10:30, took today off and just let me tell you I am stiffer today than when it first happened. Thank God some of the swelling has gone down.

Happier news, we got a new stove and refrigerator, they are very nice, the icemaker in my fridge stopped working and it was going to cost between 2-3 hundred to get a new one and my appliances are 22 years old so we decided it was smarter to get new and of course I could not have a white fridge and a almond stove even though my hood is still avocado green - go figure. The new ones were $677 and $579 so we got a good deal.

Tomorrow I am suppose to go see skating at the arena, hope I can walk better, not looking forward to those stairs.

Guess by now everyone knows about my trip with Bobby next year. We are going to Paris and Barcelona. It sounds like a very fun trip. So save your money and send me all you can spare, I want to have fun.

Who do you think Jason will pick? Molly or Melissa or what about Deanna?
Let me know.

Love to all

Love is in the air

Well tomorrow is the big L O V E day. I have no plans. After almost 40 years of marriage it is not as big as it once was.

My Mother-In-Law is in the hospital, she probably has pneumonia, they are running tests and giving her breathing treatments and oxygen to help her breathe. She still says she is fine. She is amazing for 88 years young.

Trying to get my stuff together for taxes and of course as usual I have one paper missing that I need. Have been looking for it but no luck so far.

Took the day off for no reason. I just needed a day for me. I miss my me time since my husband lost his job 9 months ago. It is exactly 9 months today. I am a little afraid of Friday the 13th for that reason.

Next Friday I see my oncologist for my 6 month check up.
Next Tuesday I have Jury Duty. For some reason I usually get picked.

Saw my hairdresser yesterday and he colored and cut my hair. It seems that he has this vision of me using a blow dryer and a brush to do my hair, for some reason my ability to work that is nil. He is such a great guy and I love talking to him & Heath. Yesterday was hard for me because the last time I saw him Bobby was with me and all the times before that Mom was with me so yesterday I sat waiting for him crying because Mom was not there, if Bobby had been there I would not have had time to think. There were so many things Mom and I did together and some days it is hard not to just cry like I am doing now. I guess I just feel sorry for myself. Ok buck up life is hard but at least I have the love of my family and support of my friends.

I need to quit blogging and go dust, you can write your name on my furniture. I am a lousy housekeeper, I really miss Terry, she was not great but at least she did dust and kept the house in pretty good shape.

Wish all of my family and friends love, health, happiness and fun.

Have a super day.

Christmas is not over yet ????

I just wanted to say again what a great Christmas I had. All my close family was here.
My husband's (2) brothers and their wives were not here but maybe next year they will be able to come. I loved all my gifts and want to say thank you to everyone for making this the best for me. Life has been good so far this year (2009). Mac had a great birthday, we went to the movies and then later we went out to dinner. He had calls from the kids and from my brother and my nephew. What a great way to start the year.

My son Bobby took me to get my hair done by my favorite hairdresser David and I now have my old look back, sorta brown gold with reddish tones. Everyone loves the color and I have had many compliments on it. I have another appointment on Feb. 6th to do whatever. I have always just let David do whatever he thinks is needed so guess I will continue with that. He is just the bestest hairdresser in the world. He makes me feel like a special person and that he cares. What a great feeling.

Bobby and I enjoyed our visit to 5 guys burgers, they do have the best. Even got my picture taken outside (maybe Bobby can post it for me). We also went to Kohl's and we both liked that store. Looking forward to going back soon.

Life is back to normal pretty much. I am looking forward to next Friday when I turn the big 61. Work is fine, got all my stats done and 2008 is wrapped up. Got my 6 month coaching plan and I got a great review. Saw my PCP last Tuesday and he is very pleased with all my lab work and how well I am doing. So am I.

Tiger and family had to get a new car, the old green tank died and so they now have a white hyundai. What a difference in size. Sounds like they got a good deal.

Finally went to The Catfish Place and I must say it was a good meal but I really loved the Fried Green Tomatoes. Can't wait to go back, they also have the best cole slaw you ever tasted. Yum Yum.

Hope 2009 is the best for everyone. Love to all.

Family Christmas

Christmas has come and gone but it was a great day spent with family. My one true wish was granted and most of the family was here. Everyone said the meal was delicious and I just happen to agree with them. We fed all the family some of them more than once.
We steamed oysters on the grill later on Christmas day and they were great.

My brother came and told me what a great day it was being here with family and I totally agree with him. I missed Mom more this year than last year but I know she was happy that we were together as a family this year.

2008 has not been a great year but we made it. Here's hoping that 2009 will be a better year for all.

Charles had a great Christmas and that made all of us happy. The whole family seemed to have a great day and Santa was good to all of us. Thank you to everyone for the great gifts but most of all for the love.

Jason, Bobby, and I went shopping Friday and had fun at all the after sales. Finally got to take Jason out for his birthday lunch. Love the cabbage wraps at Toojay's.
Spent all day Saturday in my gown, never got dressed, it was a very relaxing day.
Bobby and I went shopping today, to a movie (Marley & Me), and out to eat. The Movie was good but so sad at the end. Don't take small kids to see this one.

Time to go back to work tomorrow, oh well, Thank God I have a job.

All my love and wishes for a healthy, happy, prosperous New Year.

December

Cannot believe that it is all ready December 7th. Where has the time gone?
I finally went to NYC for a visit with my son and I had a marvelous time.
We had a great Turkey Day meal and went to the movies to see Four Christmases. it was a really cute movie. I had the traditional dinner except that my stuffing had raisins in it. I just don't like raisins. Otherwise my meal was delicious. My almond lemon tart was soooo good. Bobby had duck and it was really tasty. We stopped by Whole Foods on the way home and he got his turkey dinner and I got fried chicken, really good.
We relaxed on Friday and Saturday and just watched TV. It was the type of visit when just being together was the best of times. I got lucky and slept on his bed and it is really comfortable.

My trip home was another story. We finally took off at 11:15, the turbulence was really bad, the girl next to me was sniffing all the way home, we got to Orlando on time but we had to fly around for a while because no one was landing due to weather conditions and finally we were told we were going to Jacksonville to refuel and wait for the all clear in Orlando. Finally got to Orlando between 4:30 and 5:00. What a day. Thank goodness I was off Monday all I did was relax because I was exhausted.

And then it happened on Wednesday, I got sick. Have not felt well since then, went to work all week but came home Friday morning at 7:15, have mostly been in bed since then. Taking all kind of junk, nothing seems to help. This to shall pass.

Not sure I am ready for Christmas but I will be before the 25TH.

Stay well, love to all.
