Post Mastectomy

Well I had my surgery on Friday and I did good. The surgery took about 3 1/2 hours, of course they lost my specimen so I have to wait for the results of my lymph node biopsy until Tuesday or Wednesday so keep thinking positive thoughts for me.
The surgery was ok, I am just feeling uncomfortable not a lot of pain but lots of discomfort. I spent one night in the hospital and came home around 4 pm on Saturday.

I have had a lot of phone calls and a visitors. It sure is nice to feel all the love and support.

My friends at work made several food donations and we have enjoyed them so far.
My husband has been the cook, clothes washer, cleaner upper and he is doing a good job.

I am going to rest some now. Keep the prayers coming and pray for a cure for cancer, it needs to be cured now so other people don't have to deal with all this.

Love to all.

Count Down Has Started

Well today I start all my work-up for my surgery on Friday. Things are going well so far but I will be glad when the surgery is over. Am I nervous, yes and no. Will I be able to stay at home for 6 weeks? No - 2 weeks at most I hope. All my friends are super supportive and my family has been wonderful. Not sure yet when I will start chemo but I hope it goes as well as my Moms' did as far as the side effects .

Mom is not doing well. She has had to call again and get stronger medicine for the 3rd time. She will be taking something with morphine in it. I hope I will be able to help her while I am trying to recuperate. Life is not easy but at least it is life.

Thanksgiving was very nice. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves but we needed Bobby there but he had a super time in "Paree". I am so glad he had a good time. Next year hopefully I will be able to go somewhere with him.

I have got most of my Christmas shopping done and wrapped believe it or not, just a few more items and then I am done.

Have a fun filled week and enjoy life!

Mastectomy

Well this may sound very weird but I got some good news today. All my scans came back negative, I have arthritis everywhere but not cancer. I will need to have a mastectomy and chemo but I can deal with that. They will check my lymph nodes when they do the mastectomy and I will start chemo pretty soon after surgery. I really like my oncologist. She is very straight forward but compassionate at the same time.
I will not be having breast reconstruction at this time but maybe in 6 months to a year. She recommends that I wait and not put any foreign objects in my body at this time. The other good news is that the kind of cancer I have does not usually spread to the other breast. All my friends at work have been super supportive and (2) of them went with me today for the results. They are the best people in the world to have as co-workers. I could not have been as strong without their support. My family has also been very supportive emotionally and monetarily and I really appreciate all their help and money to help with my treatment. It is going to be very expensive but somehow we will make it. I still need all your prayers and love.
All my love and heartfelt thanks to each and everyone, especially to God for answering my prayers and all the prayers from friends and family.
I'll be around to bug the heck out of you all!!!!

Dancing With The Stars

Well it is almost over. Joey is gone. He really put on a good show and he was very
easy to watch. I don't know who I want to win, they each have such a way about them.
Mario is Mario but Emmitt is just a teddy bear you want to hug, he looks like he is having so much fun and enjoying himself. Mario seems too intense sometimes. Oh well may the best dancer win. I enjoyed the preview of the tour for the dancers but Harry Hamlin is just not up to par with all the others, Lisa needs to give him some private lessons.

Have a good week, have fun.

Weight

Why is it when you think you are losing weight you aren't. I know I am not eating as much as usual but the weight is not coming off. Of course I don't exercise and I know I should but the only excuse I have is that I am too lazy to work out.

It is 0300 in the morning and I have been awake for one hour. Went to bed about 8:30 and just could not sleep any more.

So who do you think is going to win Dancing With The Stars? I hope it will be Emmitt because he is just too cute for words and seems to be a "real" person. Mario is probably the technically better dancer but he seems to know he is and does not seem to be as charismatic as Emmitt.

My son is right. It is hard to watch Luke and Laura on GH now. You remember how they were and it seems strange to see them as they are now, especially Laura. She has not aged well but maybe she just needs some make-up to look better.

Well it is time to start another week. Hope this will be a good week for all.
Bye for now.

Scans and more Scans

On Tuesday I had a P E T scan. The results showed (2) areas of concern, my thoracic spine and media sternum. This does not mean it is cancer but they need a more detailed look at these areas to rule it out. I had a C T scan today of my chest, abdomen, and pelvis. Next Tuesday I have a MRI of my spine and a bone scan. I will not get the results until the 14th so we play the waiting game. No matter what the results are I am going to fight like hell, so cancer watch out.

The really scary part is the money angle, so far I have paid almost $600 for these tests. The sad part is I am supposed to have good insurance but I am beginning to wonder. The scans next week will be another $200. I NEED TO WIN THE LOTTERY NOW!!!

KEEP PRAYING FOR ALL PEOPLE WHO ARE SICK AND WE NEED TO FIND A CURE FOR CANCER NOW.

Need to go now because I need to cry for a while and then kick my ass to remind myself what a wonderful family I have. I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!!!

Help

Today I get the news regarding my scan. I am scared but I will be strong.
Keep up the prayers and sending good vibes my way.
Life's a bitch but at least it is life. I will survive!!!!

Life Goes On

Well I did all this yesterday and of course the system went down.

This week will be busy. I am seeing a plastic surgeon today, having a PET scan tomorrow, seeing the oncologist on Friday and then will find out what I need to do. Everything I read says don't make any quick decisions and I am trying not to but it sure would be nice to know what to even think about doing.

Spent the weekend down with the family and enjoyed myself. It was nice to just get away and do nothing. Thanks for letting me visit.

Talked to Bobby yesterday and he seems to be enjoying life and his friends. I can't wait to hear about his trip to Paris and to see pictures. Go and have fun and eat lots of good French food.

Love to all

I'M IN LOVE

I had my favorite food today for lunch, Creme Brulee, one of the girls I work with made some for me and Jo. They tasted sooooo good. Actually we had a luncheon for all the birthdays in August,September, and October and we all brought something.
There are some really good cooks that work here.

Back to you later I need to go get some more sugar in my system to run my blood sugar up another 100 points because I am sure it is up now.

Yummy Dinner

Went out to dinner with (5) of my friends on Friday. They are being very supportive to me during these hard times with the family.

My Mother will not be having any more treatment for her cancer because it is spreading and they can not do anything else for her. Vitas Hospice has started coming to the house to help. The nurse comes once a week or more as needed, the aide comes two to three times a week.

My Mother-In-Law is in the hospital, she went in to have her pacemaker re-done, they had to put (5) leads in. She seems to be doing pretty good, her breathing seems a bit labored to me but she was in her procedure for four hours and she is 85 years old. She just wants to get back to her life at the legion, bingo, and honor guard. She is amazing for her age.

I have had a fair week end, get a little weepy at times, just want to get the biopsy done and see what it is in my breast, waiting has been very hard but the doctor I want was at a convention. I see him Tuesday and will find out what to do and when.

My husband goes to the dermatologist tomorrow to see if any more skin cancers have popped up.

Talked to both my boys this week end. Sure do love them, they make life worth living.
I love all my family and hope they all know how much they mean to me.

For my family I need your Christmas wish list. I want to get started soon. I have bought (3) gifts so far. I know what I want and I will be telling Santa real soon.

Send positive thoughts my way.

Love, Laughter, and Happiness and most of Health to all.

The BIG C

Well it seems like the cancer has spread, the chemo may have slowed it down for a short while but it has spread to more spots in her lungs and her left adrenal gland.
VITAS HOSPICE came yesterday and today to let us know what they can do for us.

I go to the doctor on the 17th to check out the mass I found in my left breast. The waiting is hard but I like the doctor so wait I must.

I was really sad that Vivica got voted off Dancing With The Stars. She was really good and gave a lot to her dancing. I still like the guys better.

By the way bad news travels fast. One of Mom's cousins called today to see how she was doing and Mom told her and the next thing we know her sister-in-law calls and then her nephew John called. The SC grapevine is still working!

Hope everyone has a good week and wishing good health to one and all.

New Fall TV Season

OK so it has started, the new season. There are some shows worth watching at least once, some longer. I liked Smith, Close To Home, Kidnapped, Men In Trees, Til' Death, Happy Hour, and of course my old favorites, ER, Grey's Anatomy and there are more coming!!!! WOW !!!!

Celebrity Duets has lost one of the best singers that was on the show. Jai Rodriguez was really good and all I heard Hal Sparks do is scream. America has voted and that is that. Maybe I will still watch and maybe I won't, who knows.

My Mother-In-Law is still in the hospital. She went in Wednesday and she is still not putting out enough liquids to take the fluid from around her heart. What seems strange to me is that the kidney specialist released her but not her other doctors, if she is not putting out enough fluids doesn't that mean she has a kidney problem? Seems like a no brainer to me. Oh well.

My Mother fell yesterday morning in the bathroom, she is very sore but did not hurt her self
seriously, some bruises on arm and side. She has chemo next Wednesday and then the following Monday she has a CT Scan, Tuesday a PET Scan, and on Friday sees the Oncologist and the following Monday she gets a B-12 shot.

My husband and I have still not celebrated our 37Th anniversary. Today his truck is on the blink. Not sure what is wrong but maybe the transmission. If it wasn't for bad luck we would have no luck at all.

I did not go to work Friday, had some GI problem that has really whipped me, in fact I have not left the house since I came home from work on Thursday. I really need to go to the grocery store but not sure when I will make it.

I keep thinking I need some alone time and still have not been able to plan a get away. My brother is working out of town so I have no one to stay with Mom so here I will stay.

Received my two elephants from SC, they were made in Taiwan so that tells you how good they are and they wanted us to drive up there and get them. NO WAY. It would have cost more in gas than they are worth and I know it is not the price of a gift but let's not get ridiculous.

Stay healthy, have fun, love your family, stay in touch for tomorrow may never come!

Kick Ass Dancing

OK what a show. It seems like the dancers are better this season or maybe I expect less this season. Joey Lawrence did a remarkable job last night and the outfit his partner had on was unbelievable. I kept waiting for something to pop out but no mishaps. Vivica Fox looked good, that cartwheel was amazing but how did those melons stay in and she was in high heels. WOW!
Emmitt did a good job but not as good as last week. Mario did a real good dance but he did not do a quick step, surely he has had dance lessons. Monique was really good and showed her stuff.
Jerry Springer is doing much better than I thought he would. Sarah Evans was better but she is not a dancer.

Today is our 37th anniversary. We had plans but I think they have just been put on hold.
My mother-in-law called my husband, she is having shortness of breath and her kidneys are shutting down. Have to go and make some phone calls to see where she is. Pray for her.

And So It Begins

Dancing With The Stars

Well, what do you think? I loved Mario Lopez, Emmett Smith, and Vivica Fox. They really did a good job of selling their dancing. Some of the others can go home now. I wanted Harry Hamlin to do better but we will have to wait and see if he improves. Actually Jerry Springer surprised me, he was better than I thought he would be. Who says you can't teach and old dog (man) new tricks. Monique also did a pretty good dance. Tonight will tell the tale, who goes, who stays, I voted, did you?

Can't wait for all the new shows and the return of my favorites.

Have a fun day and enjoy life. THE BEAT GOES ON.

And Life Goes On

Chemo is poison, it's true! It kills the cancer cells hopefully. This last treatment has really zapped Mom. She has stayed in bed 85% of the time since last Thursday, some days she was in bed 20 hours out of 24. She is starting to get her strength back. She said she is not sure how much more of this she can take but she only has one more treatment scheduled at this time.
Would I take chemo? I don't know if I would or not, it depends on a lot, type of cancer, my age,
the prognosis. Is it worth the few more months you might get?

Tonight is the big night!!! Dancing With The Stars!!!! Will this year be as good as last year?
The stars are not the cream of the crop but it should be interesting, we will find out.

Come on General Hospital fans, Rick has to go, he is a SOB, I know it is a role he plays but
he makes you hate him, leave Sam alone, think of poor Alexis on her death bed.

Babe (AMC) make up your mind who you want - Josh or JR, you can't have both.
Jonathan and Amanda - NO NO NO - Lily wake up, Jonathan needs you and you need him.
Colby needs to go back to her Mother - she is a spoiled brat.

One Life To Live Todd forgive Blair after all she did for you.
Spencer and Paige are the parents of Hugh - NO WAY, does make for a good story line, will he put his Father in jail? Sure hope he does because Spencer needs to go to jail now.

Went to Macaroni Grill Saturday, the meal was really good and I loved, loved their bread.
Red Lobster on Sunday and my meal was good.

Remember family should be together on holidays, think Orlando not Paris.

Surf's up, even for old men!!! Just kidding. Catch a wave, hang 10, what ever.

Don't worry, be happy.

Roadrunner

What a joke. Had an appointment for a tecnician to come check out why I could not connect to the internet. They sent a tech who did not know anything about computers, even less than me.
I showed him the message I had printed out showing the problem and his response was "duh".
He then went outside and changed the cable lines which had been changed in the last few months. He looked at his read out and said ok it was fixed and to log on. The message I got said this page cannot be displayed, booted out and tried again, same message. He then suggested I call Roadrunner again while he was there. I told him it would be better if I did not call at this time because I was so mad that I knew I could not be nice to anyone at that point. At that time he said he had to go, so he left. By this time my blood pressure was 400 over 300 and I was so
very angry I could have spit nails. After I calmed down I called again and talked with someone and I had to unplug, plug, unplug, plug and finally I got internet connection. ROADRUNNER is not my favorite at this time to say the least.

Thank God for Charlene she helped me clean up my back bedroom last week end. She is such a big help and she always helps with a smile. Thank you for all your help.

Went out to lunch for Mother's birthday last Saturday and the nine of us had a very nice time.
The food was good and the company even better.

Hope everyone has a good Labor Day week end.

Saturday

Thank God the week end is finally here. It was very busy at work this week.

On Monday I got a wonderful surprise at work, my big city boy sent me some gorgeous flowers!
It was such a surprise and they really made my day. The card was signed "just because" Bobby. Thank you son for thinking of me " just because".

Granny had her fourth chemo treatment Wednesday and this time she had some nausea and of course she is extremely tired and staying in bed a lot. She has two more treatments scheduled and then more scans.

I'm thinking about getting my hair cut short again. My grandson Charles wants me to color it red again, he does not like the white. So what should a grandmother do? Cut, perm, color ???
I need to find a stylist I like but so far no luck. Sure do miss David but I just did not like the shop he moved to. David get your own shop again, please!!!

The weather is yucky, raining now, guess I will just be lazy and do nothing.

Hope Butch and Sharon have a great week in Vegas, Bon Voyage. Win lots of money!!!

God speed to all.

Good and Bad news

Well went with Mom to see the Oncologist yesterday and we had mixed news. Two of the spots on her lungs are the same or maybe a little smaller and two others have gotten larger. She will be having three more chemo treatments and then a PET scan which is suppose to give more detail on the findings.

She said something to me yesterday that was very upsetting. She said she only thought she had three more good months to live. She said no one knows how bad she feels. I told her we can only know if she tells us. Most days she said she does not feel like even doing the dishes so I told her that she does not have to do them we will. She stopped doing the clothes several weeks ago and so I started doing them.

I want her to do as much as she can but I don't want her to feel like she has to do anything.
I just don't want her to give up. I want her to be happy and not just wither away. What is the happy medium? I don't know, someone please tell me.

Hoping that everyone has a super special weekend.

THE LONG HOT SUMMER

Wow is it hot? I don't remember being this hot in all the years I've been in Florida. According to the weather men it is hot all over, what's going on? GLOBAL WARMING!!!!

Mom had her third round of chemo last Wednesday and it really did her in. All she wanted to do for four days was sleep. Each round of chemo is different.

My son is so sweet. He is always thinking of me. He told me he wanted some red towels because he wanted to change his bathroom and make it pop with color. What he didn't tell me was how hard it would be to find a red shower curtain to match the towels. Well (4) stores later I hope I found the right one. Will get these in the mail soon.

I also want to thank him for the book he sent me. He knows how much I like Evanowich books.

There are several shows on this summer that I like.
Angela's Eyes
Hex
Saved
The Closer
Kyle XY
America's Got Talent is just not good but I watch because my man Regis is the emcee.

Looking forward to going to the dinner theatre this week end with some of my friends.
We are going to see Grease so it should be fun.

Looking forward to cooler weather but no hurricanes to cool us off hopefully.

Keep smiling! Love to all!

Week End Blues

What a yucky week end. Just sat around all day Saturday and did not do anything except wash a few clothes. Called Hungry Howie's and ordered subs, chicken wings, and an antipasta, which was yummy.

Sunday got up, went to grocery store bright and early and got all that done.
Went to Target looking for king size pillow cases, prices started at $29.95 and went up. NO WAY am I paying that much for pillow cases, so I went to Linen "N" Things. I asked a clerk to point me in the direction of the cheapest cases and so I got some for $12.99 a pair.

By this time I was hungry so off I went to Red Lobster. What a delicious lunch, fried shrimp and a rock lobster tail and of course my salad and ice tea, tasted my mashed potatoes and turned down the biscuits, so not a bad lunch at all. Sorry no one wanted to go with me but I had a nice lunch by myself. I guess I am starting to learn that I can depend only on me and that is ok.

Had a couple of text messages from Bobby so I know he is ok.

Talked with Tiger and he was still waiting on my call from last week end. I had called three times but that did not count. He and his family are going on vacation on Tuesday for a few days,
sure hope they have good weather and a fun filled time.

My Mother has not been feeling good for the last few days so I hope the week ahead is better for her. Keep her in your prayers.

Signing off with God Speed to all.

Stress

Stress is a killer. It seems like my life just gets more screwed up as the days go on. My family deserves a break from all the drama. Today my husband had surgery and it really was good news from the surgery, then at 1516 he started bleeding like a stuck pig. Mom freaked out and me, well I was so calm it was scary. I took the saturated dressing off, blood was all over his neck,
running down his stomach and back and me I just put pressure on the incision site for a few minutes, (seemed like forever). I called the nurses I work with and they said I did the right thing. So far so good. Is it over? I sure hope so.

My Baby calls and says he is having surgery next week and of course I want to be with him.
I am scheduled to work all next week and Mom has chemo again next Wednesday.
What should I do? The Mommy part of me wants to hop a plane to NYC and the daughter part of me wants to go to NYC to be with my son. Am I a bad daughter? I try to be there for everyone but what can I do? My heart hurts, I want to be both places. HELP!!!!

The worse news of all is I think I have developed an allergy to my lipstick. Now you must understand how many tubes of lipstick I have. Lipstick is the only make up I wear and I feel UGLY without it. What to do, cry, rant, rave, maybe look for hypoallergenic lipstick.
Oh well, life goes on.

If anyone has advice for all my problems, PLEASE give me the answers.

Now to tell you how much I enjoyed Bobby being home. It was wonderful, dinner, shopping, movies, all the fun things we used to do. I sure do miss my fun times with him.
He seems to be really happy in NYC so I am happy for him. He is a big city person and is enjoying his life. Time moves on and we have to adapt to all the changes, so I will.

HEALTH, HOPE, HAPPINESS and FINANCIAL FREEDOM to all my friends and family.

Happy July

It has been a good month so far. My son and his family came over for a couple of days and we had a very nice visit. I just love sitting around and talking with family until 2 in the morning.
We had more smoke than in bars, but it was fun. Thank goodness we were all off the next day.
Now the bad news, the Tarp has died. Charlene will know what I mean. The wind took it away yesterday, next I will try some spray adhesive, which was suggested by my big city son.
My Bobby came home Monday. It was really great to see him. It is surprising how normal it seems to have him back, cans in the sink, etc. Sure did miss that. I hope he has a nice few days visiting Tiger, Charlene, Charles, and Simon. Don't get burned!
Mom had chemo again yesterday and it went really well, so far no nausea. She was talking and laughing with the other chemo patients yesterday. It was strange seeing her enjoying herself because she is lifeless at home, after chemo she is talkative and vibrant. Oh well!

Love and good health to all. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we battle the BIG Ca.
It seems to be making the rounds in the family.

Life Goes On

There has not been much going on with my family recently. Went to lunch Saturday with my husband and then back home. Sunday we went to visit my Mother-In-Law. She is amazing, she was outside doing yardwork and this lady is 85. She is like the Energizer Bunny, she just keeps going and going and going.

Next week Mom has Chemo again. I just hope she does as well as the last time. So Thursday is Chemo and Friday appointment with Oncologist. She is still very tired but other than that she has not had any problems.

Looking forward to a visit from my kids soon. Maybe we can go out and do some fun things.

Hope everyone is having a good summer so far.

Chemo

Well the first treatment is over and it went very well. So far there have been no side effects but from what I'm told it can take 3-5 days. The nurse at MD Anderson was very nice. Mom was very nervous but she is a strong lady, she will persevere. Actually what is really funny is that I have been nauseous since her treatment, hopefully I will recover soon.

Mom was very pleased that my boys called to check on her and she talked to Bobby and it made her feel so good. Feeling loved and needed is so very important. I always enjoy talking to my boys, they are remarkable young men. They make me proud to be their Mother.

Butch and Sharon also called to check and see how she was doing.

Keep the phone calls coming!!! It does help.

I wish health and happiness to all.

Crazy Days

Well the last week has been very busy. Going to work, taking Mom to get blood work and to the doctor, spending the day with her on Friday at the hospital while she had her port put in. Her chemo starts on Wednesday, I will go to work leave and pick her up and get her settled for her treatment, go back to work and then pick her up and home we go, then on Thursday back to the doctor. I just hope the chemo works.

Saturday I went to the movies with my husband, we saw RV, it was very funny. We then went and had pedicures. My husband had his first pedicure and he seemed to really like it. By that time it was time to eat so Red Lobster here we come. It was a very enjoyable day.

I made pancakes for breakfast today and they turned out good. I would have preferred to go out but I guess it was ok to stay in.

I have a new favorite author her name is Fern Michaels. I really enjoy her books.

Love and kisses to all my family and friends.

Memorial Day

Just a little late with this posting. Memorial Day was a day of travel back home but Sunday we had a wonderful cook out. The food was good and the people were fun to be around. The oysters were just delicious, so big and salty, yum yum. We even found time to go shopping. I must also compliment the chef for the yummy peach cobbler. Thank you to the kids for having us down for the week end, it was very relaxing.

Not much else going on. TV is nothing to look forward to right now, just waiting for the new summer shows to start. Tired of Kendall being in a coma, wake up or die, who cares. I heard that Zach was leaving the show and that makes me very sad. Send J r to jail, do something.
Is the evil Dr. Madden going to kidnap Erica? Maybe she needs a little vacation.

Have a super day!

Sunday Is The Day of Rest

Well, not really. I did (5) loads of laundry. Made Pina Coladas for my Mother and also took one to Sharon. Read a book, took a nap, and now I am not sleepy. Talked to my NYC son. He gave me the good news that he is coming home for a few days in July.

Saturday was a nice day. Went to the grocery store, which I hate to do. I go at 0715 because it is not crowded and is much quicker. On Saturday afternoon my husband and I went shopping,
Best Buy, Circuit City, and I also got a pedicure. After all that we went to Houlihan's for lunch and we even had dessert, CREME BRULEE, my very favorite.

Tomorrow I go for my physical, really looking forward to that.

On Saturday my Beach son and I "watched " the Preakness together. I always enjoy our little routine of the horse races.

On a very special note I just want to say that I have the most wondeful sons in all the world.
I am so very proud to be their Mother.

Thanks to all my family for all the years of joy, tears, sadness but most of all for the love.
I could not do it without you. You are the Sunshine of my life.

Now back to the weekly grind. Love, Laughter, and Happiness to all.

This & That

Well we finally made it to Dixie Crossroads for lunch on Sunday. The food was good, but I have had better shrimp at Red Lobster and Houlihans. All the other food looked tastier than mine.
I need to go back and try something different.

Map Quest gave us the wrong directions so we were about 10 minutes late. Maybe someone should tell the Map Quest people to redo their directions.

American Idol was good last night. Katherine did a superb job on Somewhere Over The Rainbow. I don't think she will win but she really has a nice voice. I think they all have a chance but I believe Taylor will win.

Not sure what I thought of Grey's Anatomy. Is Izzy really gone? She looked gorgeous in her prom dress. Not sure I want Meredith and McDreamy back together, oh well.

Work is slow today so I'm having a nice easy day.
Love and happiness to all my family and friends.

Science Center - Family Photo

What a nice looking family photo. I really enjoyed the trip to the science center. Of course you can learn even at my age. Thanks for a delightful day.

Prices

Well let me tell you about my dinner at Sam Snead's last Thursday. We were sitting on the patio and it was hot and really not my idea of fun but I enjoyed being with my friends for dinner. The prices were outrageous. I had two appetizers, a bottle of water ($2.50) and very small dessert. My bill including tip was $30.80. Not sure that is exactly my cup of tea price wise, however we spent over three hours talking and just having a good time.

The kids came over yesterday and we spent a nice time together. Charlene, Charles, and I went to the Orlando Science Center. It was really cool. The Imax theater is really cool but when I walked in I got dizzy as did Charlene. The movie was cool and it showed how life probably does exist on other planets.

Tiger got the AC fixed in their car while we were out learning about Science.

At 1800 we watched the Kentucky Derby. It has become a yearly ritual for us to pick our horse and see who picks the winner. This year Charlene, Bobby, and Mac picked the winner and Tiger, Charles, Granny, and I did not. We then watched Nascar racing and then went to bed at midnight.

Charlene did me a huge favor today!!! She helped me clean out my (2) hall closets.I really appreciate all the help. You can actually close the doors without pushing things to get them closed. Thanks for all the help.

After lunch they had to go back beach side, it was a very nice visit and we enjoyed having them visit. Now back to the weekly grind. Have a super special week and love to all my family and friends.

Kai

OK I finally got to meet Kai. He is the cutest little guy. Grandma McD even got to feed the little darling. I could see the love between him and his Momma. What a beautiful family. Kai looked for his Momma when he would hear her voice. Can't wait to see what Uncle Bobby thinks of him.

Then I watched AMC - I want to be Kendall - Zach is a real hottie, so glad they finally got together. Maybe Dixie and Ryan could become a couple, they looked cute together, stranger things have happened.

Happiness to all, have a great night, keep blogging.

American Idol

OK I finally did it. I voted for Taylor. I just don't like the screeching that Chris does. I find Taylor really entertaining. He gives you the whole package. Katherine is also a winner, she has a great voice and I just like her. I think Elliott or Paris should go home tonight, really Chris because I don't like the way he seems to force his sound. I know I am probably wrong but these old ears like what they like.

Watched What About Brian and that show is really cute. How does anyone have that much sex in so short a time, no way Jose!!! Can't believe next week is the season finale it just started.

Did you see Hope & Faith? Can't believe the hair on Kelly Ripa- that was really ugly.
Her husband must need the work really bad to play such a stupid character in the first half hour last night.

Well I must start my work day, it is 0455 so I must turn on the smile and get to work. Have a super day to all my friends and family.

M O N E Y

Why is it that we never have enough money for all the things we want? It would be nice to just be able to go shopping and not have to worry how much you spend. They say money doesn't buy happiness but sometimes I wonder. It sure makes me happy when there seems to be enough to pay all the bills, buy groceries, go out and have some fun and have a little left over just in case you need it.

This is my first full week back at work. I think I like vacation better, no I know I like vacation better. Thank goodness I like the people that work with me.

Tonight is American Idol. I think Chris will win but not sure I want him to be the American Idol. Taylor grows on me week by week but don't think he could be the winner. Elliott has the voice but not the "charisma". Paris is not mature enough to be the top singer so that leaves Katherine. We'll see. Hopefully Paula won't be incoherent this week. Ryan stop talking so much and cool the sarcasm towards Simon, enough is enough.

My older son and his family might come to Orlando this week end, of course if the waves are good Orlando is out for him. He loves to surf.

Hope everyone has a super week and enjoys the beautiful weather we are having right now.

Spring Break

Well, I'm back home from the big city. I had a super time with Bobby. We went to a play and to a movie and otherwise just walked around the city. Had the best cupcakes you could ever want from The Magnolia Bakery. The tulips were blooming and the streets were spring time lovely. The plane trip home was hell, flight was supposed to be at 7:30 P.M. We boarded the plane @ 9pm and actually left at 9:45pm. The wait at the airport was more than horrible, yelling, running, and screaming kids. Seats were hard to find and everyone was miserable. On the flight the turbulence was bad so there I sat praying that we would be safe. It sounded like the plane would fall apart. Not sure I like Delta. Thank you son for a super trip and for all the things you did and bought for me. I have never spent so little on a trip. You are very generous and I appreciate all you did and the time we had together. Have to go back to work tomorrow for two days then off again to visit my other son and his family for Charles' birthday. Have a super week everyone!

BLAH TUESDAY

Well there really is no news happening at this time. I am going to take my car in for a recall- the fuel pump needs to be replaced. Now I have been complaining about this since I had the first warranty service done and finally they have found the problem. Of course they could not duplicate the problem but now they finally agree that something is wrong with the car.

I was really sorry to see Mandisa voted off American Idol, however she was on Regis and Kelly yesterday and I did not like her performance. What happened to the beautiful singing voice?

Christy and John are on the way to pick up their baby. I sure am happy for them.
They will make super parents and they have so much love to give. Kai is one lucky little boy.

Saturday is the big day, I'm winging my way to New York to spend a week with my son.
I can't wait to find out all he has planned. We have always enjoyed doing things together- so watch out New York.

I fixed jambalaya for dinner last night. It was really good. I've been fixing a few different dishes the last few weeks and my husband seemed to like most of them. He is a really picky eater.

Hope everyone has a very special, happy Easter.

Daylight Savings Time

I hate Daylight Savings Time, it messes up my whole system. I took a nap this afternoon and now I'm not sleepy at all. I am sure my day tomorrow will be horrible because of no sleep.

I spent the weekend with my family in Indialantic. I really enjoyed being there with them. Charlene fixed a wonderful pot roast. It was delicious! We went to Texas Roadhouse for lunch. This place has the best steak! You must try it, it is mouth watering delicious.

Came home today and spent the afternoon getting caught up on all my shows from Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday. Just a very lazy, relaxing time and then a long nap.

Think I will go watch Desperate Housewives and then try and go back to sleep.

Only 13 days until my trip to "The Big Apple". Looking forward to a fun week.

Ides Of March

Well as you know tomorrow is the last day of March. It has mostly been a very beautiful month, nice weather, balmy days, good old Florida weather.

Going down to the ocean for the weekend to see my family. Looking forward to a relaxing time.

I have been having problems with not wanting to work. It must be my age. Maybe it is time to retire. Sure would be nice but my nice stack of bills say to keep on working.

My brother called tonight and wants us to go to Vegas with him and his wife in August for their 25th anniversary. Would love to go but my husband said we could not afford a trip like that. Think I will start looking on Internet for package deals. It won't hurt to check out what deals I can find.

Only (2) weeks until my trip to New York. Sure would love to see Jersey Boys. Regis says it is a really good show. Hope we will be able to get tickets to see his show. My son has some great plans and I am looking forward to spending time with him.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

SERVICE WITH A SMILE

Why is it so hard to order a meal at a drive through window? Went to Steak & Shake on Saturday, ordered a #5, Frisco Melt, Double cheeseburger, Chocolate Shake and a side by side shake. All the sandwiches came all the way and I had to ask for the chocolate shake and had to wait forever. Never again I say, but I know I will go back.

Had lunch with family Sunday at Red Lobster on Sand Lake Road. I think the one on Colonial has much better food. We all enjoyed being together. Charles had his usual crab legs. Charlene and I had the Lobster Lovers Dream. Mac and his Mother had the
Lobster and Steak. My Mother would not go with us as usual, oh well.

Talked to both my sons this weekend. I always enjoy that!

Granny said she only had (2) packs of cigarettes left and I told her she should have enough until March 30th, but she doesn't. So of course being the wonderful daughter I am, I brought her (4) cartons. She's good until May 4th. Sure wish she would quit smoking but she won't. I guess that is all the pleasure she has left in her life. Of course there is a little more to the story, but I can't tell all.

Not much on TV this weekend so I am all caught up. TiVo has some new features and I really like them. Hurry home Bobby so you can try them out. Just waiting for them to get where you can record more than (1) at a time and then it is bye bye DVR from Brighthouse. All I've had is trouble with it and now it is messing up again.

Looking forward to my trip to New York, but worried about the luggage getting lost. Maybe I'll just mail my clothes to my son! LOL

Charlene showed me some pictures she took at the wedding and I must say she looked great and my Grandson looked like a little gentleman or a spy as he said, really very cute.

God has blessed me with my children and my grandson and also my "adopted " kids are great too!!!!

That is all for now. Have a super special week.

SAD !!!

OK He was Chicken Little or a nerd but he was cute. Kevin got voted off American Idol. I admit that I shed a few tears, he was really cute, has a good voice, just not what people want their idol to be. At least Paula did not appear to be high on this show as she has on so many others.

Today is the day JR and Babe and Adam and Crystal are going to get hitched. Again!!!Will someone see Dixie? Can't wait to see what happens next.

Hopefully I have found someone to come to my house to fix my Mothers hair, will let you know later.

Blessings and happiness to all!

Have a wonderful day!

My Kind Of Music

OK you American Idol fans. Last night was kick ass. I really enjoyed the music. I really liked Mandisa, Kelly (one of my very favorite songs), Katherine, Ace, and I even liked Taylor. Just not crazy about Paris, there is something about her that just makes me want to gag. Can't wait for the results tonight.

Have a super special day, enjoy life, make a friend!

Family addition

What wonderful news! Kai is finally coming home!!! Congratulations Christy and John.
What a wonderful birthday present for John. Happy birthday and enjoy your new son. Can't wait to meet him.

Not much going on at the home place. Finally got Mom (Granny) out of the house. We went to Red Lobster Saturday night for dinner and it was a very enjoyable evening. Thanks to Sharon and Butch for a great lunch on Sunday.

Not much happening on the soaps, just the usual messing around. Why can't Kendall and Zach get together? You can feel the chemistry between them, tell Ryan to get lost, he needs Greenlee back, they were a cute couple, find him someone else!
Sonny and Elizabeth move on, it will never work, too many issues, family problems,
no one fits Sonny like Carly, ok maybe Brenda but she's gone. Robin get a guy, you need some loving. Are you tired of Sam and Jason, I am. The spark seems to be gone.
Kevin and Kelly get it right or move on. Duke look around, there must be someone else for you.

The weather is still beautiful, Sunday was just a great day.

Planning to visit my son in NY in April. Sounds like he has a good time planned for me. Looking forward to spending a week with him for Bobby and Mom time. I miss our time together.

Hoping all my friends and family a wonderful life, enjoy your time with friends and family because you never know what the next day will bring. Love and laughter to all!

Dinner With Friends

Went out to dinner with eight friends tonight. We met at Olive Garden, the salad was wondeful as usual, breadsticks with alfredo sauce was yummy, dinner was just so so, the spaghetti was a little dry and hard, like it had been setting there for a while. We had a good time talking and laughing.

Have not seen all my shows today but the ones I saw were just blah.

Hope all my friends and family are enjoying life, love to all of you!

Update for Friday & Saturday

Received a very nice surprise on Friday afternoon. My son sent me a package from the Big Apple. I got a book, post card, and some yummy candy cigarettes, which I love. He also sent some "60" candy for his Dad. Thank you so much.

While shopping on Saturday at the check out line the gentleman in front of me was using food stamps and he came up short $25.81. So of course I did my random act of kindness. The best part was I didn't have to wait in line for them to find a manager or to void and re ring his whole order which saved me time and a headache. Also one point in his favor was he had food not junk so I really felt good helping him. The cashier was so relieved that I paid because it saved her a huge mess. The message here is "it does pay to help someone in need".

Be kind to someone this week!

Good Times

What a wonderful weekend so far. Had a really great lunch with Sharon, then shopping for essentials (bras). Found (2) that I liked.

Dinner and a movie with (2) of my kids. Went to Roma Ristorante in Apopka, the very best lasagne you will ever taste, then on to The West Theater for a movie. We saw Walk The Line and it was super. Joaquin & Reese both should have gotten the Oscar,
of course she did but he also gave a stellar performance. Thank you so much Christy and John for inviting me.

Today is catch up day, wash towels, clothes, pay bills, get things ready for CPA, just all fun things, yea sure!

Just wanted to mention (1) of my favorite shows Boston Legal, if you don't watch this show you should. It is one of the best on TV, always funny and entertaining with just enough truth to be real.

AMC will Janet go back to her planet? Poor Uncle Pork Chop gone but not forgotten.
Do you think Jamie might really love Amanda? Who knows! Tad please find Dixie before David. Josh is Erica #2, he really is a Kane man!!!

OLTL Tess get over yourself, enough is enough. Clint & Vickie find out what happened and get another story line going. Paige tell Bo what is going on, maybe he can help, after all he is a "Buchanan" police commissioner.

GH Sonny & Emily over before they really began, whatever! Carly look at the baby,
he is a Cassadine! Enough all ready Alexis and Sam find out, hate each other and move on.

Got to run find a box so I can put some things in the mail for someone special, wonder who that is???

Enjoy the rest of the week end.

Chit Chat

Well, not sure I agree with the results of American Idol. Gabriel really had a good voice. The girls well that was ok.

Will Dixie ever show her face on AMC, Janet told everyone she was alive. Will they believe her? Maybe Tad will use his detecting skills and find her. Zach please get back together with Kendall, there were fireworks between you, of course Zach has
that certain something that everyone loves.

OLTL, poor Duke, in love with his step-mother, what will he do? Will Kevin ever be able to get a woman to stay with him? Blair find Todd and get back with him.

GH, ok Carly another man, what are you thinking? I don't think Sonny and Emily will be together very long, so sad. At least Lucas has his man!!

Today my husband is having more Basal Cell Cancer removed from his face!! Stay out of the sun, it can kill you. When we are young we are all sun worshipers and then we pay as we get older. Be careful of sun exposure!!

The weather here is beautiful.

Looking forward to dinner and movie with two of my kids this weekend. We are going
to Roma Ristorante, we went there when my older son was a toddler. The owners would take him back to the kitchen and get all the spaghetti off him. The Mother and her
daughters still run the place, can't wait to finally go back.

Hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend.

Fun

Went to lunch with two of my kids Christy & John, and had a very nice time. Olive Garden is one of my favorite restaurants. Christy really liked the baby gifts Bobby and I got for Kai.

I tried a new place for a pedicure Saturday afternoon. They did a good job.

I tried to get caught up on my recorded shows and I did. ER is still a good show, but I did not enjoy this weeks program as much as usual.

The soaps were just so so. Dixie got shot but no one except Zach has seen her. What is Zach going to do? I really don't want to see Ryan and Kendall back together, oh well!

Do you think Michael & Morgan will catch Sonny and Emily in a compromising position? I do!!!

Talked to both my boys this weekend so that made my heart happy. All i did Sunday was sleep, read, and watch TV, enjoyable.

Hope everyone had a super weekend and that this week will bring happiness and fun for all.

Thursday, March 02, 2006

OK so I watched One Tree Hill. What a powerful show. Remember we all have feelings, be kind to someone, make a new friend, show compassion, life is not always a bowl of cherries. I thought the entire cast did a great job, but someone needs to do away with Dan. He is a SOB!

American Idol was good. I was glad to see Brenna leave because she was "too something"...hard to describe exactly what, but too something! Heather was just soso. However I did like David, of course I like the golden oldies. Sway needed to be gone. I never did like his voice. I did think Paula was just a little stoned on something. She is too weird sometimes.

Jury Duty was one long day in the assembly room. I never got called to a case. The seating was horrible and I could not get comfortable, but I did my civic duty for the year.

The ABC soaps were ok today. On AMC I thought Simone was a little overdressed for Ethans' funeral. I wonder if Dixie ever show her face? On OLTL, Todd was up to his old tricks. I hope he finally gets Spencer. On GH the funeral for Courtney was nice. Poor Nicholas, at least he did look hot today.

What do you think?

JURY DUTY

Well I've been picked for Jury Duty. Sure am looking forward to doing my civic duty. Oh well!

Did you see Dancing With The Stars? At least my man Drew won. Stacy did a great job and she deserved 2nd place. At least Travis picked the right girl on Bachelor, go Sarah!

What is Erica going to do on AMC? Another child, she looks amazing after three kids. How many more are going to pop up???? Alas poor Dixie, show your face to the good folks in Pine Valley.

On OLTL, poor Todd is having a terrible time proving he is innocent. Are all the cops in Landview nuts? Give Spencer the door. I'm so over him! Blair is just plain crazy like her Momma. Who is the son of Paige? Rex, Hugh, Nash who knows.

GH brought back some great characters. It was wonderful going down memory lane. No side effects from the virus, huh? Alexis and Sam mother and daughter, yikes!!! Jason is just so yummy and Luke, well Luke is Luke!

Thanks to my family on the coast for a wonderful weekend.
Guess what Bobby no video games. I'm slipping!

Back to work today, things are the same.

Ladies Night Out

February 23 was Ladies Night Out for Indialantic mothers and others who wanted to support the school. Apparently the money raised goes to technology of some kind.

I arrived at The Crown Plaza with Charlene and her friend Stephanie. Tiger was home with Charles and Stephanie's two boys (ages 9 and 11). We bought a few raffle tickets , some for $3, and other bigger baskets for $5. The baskets and gifts included airline tickets, a laptop, portable DVD player, Pampered Chef baskets, an autographed skateboard, camping supplies, bikes, restaurant gift certificates, etc.

After a cardboard dinner, the tickets were called for the basket prizes. We didn't win. They also raffled off a pair of earrings in a box which you chose (we didn't win those either!). We also bought tickets to support breast cancer research and in hopes of winning a huge breast cancer basket. They raised $1500 on that basket alone!

There were also several different auctions. One of the auctions was to be principal of the school for the day. One of Charlene's friends, Maureen, bid an amazing $460 and won. They also auctioned off P.E. Teacher for the day and even a home cooked meal for 10 by a professional chef. That one went for $2,000! Wow!

The DJ played the Marcarena, Electric Slide and other "OLDIES". Charlene consumed 2 long island iced teas, Maureen had 4 glasses of red wine (Carroll would LOVE her), Stephanie had 1 glass of white wine and I had a ginger ale.

Between Charlene and I, we spent $194 which included the $30 for each ticket. I really enjoyed meeting and talking with Stephanie and Maureen. They were very nice. Stephanie is a very thin but strong willed single mother and Maureen is just plain vivacious.

Charlene and Maureen danced a bit and we meandered home around 10:30 to find Tiger and the kids camped out in the living room with empty pizza boxes and soda cans.

Thursday, February 23, 2006

good morning everyone
